..:: WILLIE NILE live at The Queen's ::..
Willie Nile is a New York legend. He came up out of Buffalo in the late 70’s nascent on the New York CBGB punk scene. His first record Vagabond Moon received rave reviews and as a young artist he shared stages with the Replacements, the Ramones, Blondie, U2, the Talking Heads, Patti Smith and Lou Reed.
His career slowed into the 90’s but after the century ticked over, Willie once again shifted from a club act into being a critical darling. Gigging hard around the east coast, always with the cream of New York musicians, Willie’s was the band that the bands wanted to see.
In 2010 he released The Innocent Ones and for the past 12 years Willie has been having a career resurgence rare late in life. His friends, legends in the music industry are cheering him on.
World War Willie, New York At Night, Positively Bob his award-winning Bob Dylan tribute, House of a Thousand Guitars; which his good friend Bruce Springsteen turned into a song on A Letter to You, Willie Nile’s best work has been done since 2010.
Willie Nile and his band are touring behind his 2021 pandemic album the Day the Earth Stood Still featuring the single “Blood On Your Hands” with Steve Earle, dedicated to you know who, having withstood the New York epicentre of Covid 19 pandemic outbreak.
Willie Nile is a hidden gem with a killer band drawn from their NYC peers and legends. He is experiencing a career renaissance as a man of conscious with a life of experience and a band of mercenaries. Willie Nile live is the last of the rock and roll legends before the magic leaves middle earth.
No biggie, just four chords and the truth. This NY legend plays The Queen's with his all-star band and Stephen Stanley and Chris Bennet from the Lowest of the Low opening. This is a real rock & roll show, the type rarely seen around these parts.
Willie Nile live at The Queen's Saturday, August 13th. Stay for the Summertime Blues Festival AfterJam featuring Thor & the Thundercats with Willie Nile & his band. This is going to smoke!
